Midea held groundbreaking ceremony in CPGC  Kicking off another globalization journey

On the morning of March 8, 2024, the groundbreaking ceremony of the MideaBuilding Technology industrial park project was held at CPGC Industrial Estate, with distinguished guests and management executives from the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), CG (CPGC developer), Midea’s other business lines, and Bank of China Thailand Branch attending the groundbreaking ceremony and delivering congratulatory speeches.

The Midea Building Technology industrial park project covers an area of approximately 75,000 square meters. Following the design principles of safety and compliance, manufacturing with flexibility, visitable, and iterative upgrading, the project aims to create a high-quality, flexible, and intelligent overseas high-end equipment delivery center, combining core functionstogether such as high-end manufacturing, smart offices, and lifestyle support into a comprehensive industrial park.

Cheng Lin, General Manager of Midea's Building Technology Overseas Marketing Company, stated "The commencement of this smart manufacturing project of Midea in Thailand marks the start of the fifth overseas production base under Midea Group in Thailand. It will further strengthen localized operations and talent development, empower local supply chains and relevant industrial support, better meet global market demand, improve the supply capacity and market competitiveness of HVAC products, accelerate the internationalization journey of Midea Group, and is also an important milestone for Midea's TO B business breakthroughs globally!"

As an important part of the "Smart Midea" practice, this smart manufacturing project of Midea will focus on building technology and refrigerator fields in smart homes, focusing on not only core technologies and also basic technologies, including the Internet of Things, big data, digital twins, etc., which will play a leading role in demonstrating a "low-carbon + smart" benchmark park. In the future, it will be developed into a global Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing demonstration base and low-carbon green park integrating high-end manufacturing and smart office, contributing to the global supply chain.
